Sunday 3-2-2008 Buddha Mountain

Today we went to Khao Chichan's engraved Buddha image. It is the largest effigy of it's kind (130m. high and 70m. wide). It was dreated to be presented to King Bhumibol as the Buddha image to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his accession to the throne in 1996. After that we visited some more elephants in a small village. The baby in the picture is 7 months. old. Next we went to Wat Yannasangwararam, a royal temple dedicated to King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The park like temple is scenic and tranquil and consists of several beautiful buildings, both religious and non-religious.
